Last month I did not teach my pregnancy/Webster Technique seminar at all but instead attended two different seminars on pediatric care:  one focused on neuro-developmental disorders in children and the second one on cranial distortions related to breastfeeding. It was fun being on the “other” side of the classroom, instead of teaching I was in there learning more to help people in the office (especially the kids!).

When it comes to the health and well-being of our little ones, of course we want to ensure they receive the best care available. Learning as much as possible is one great way to know you are doing the best thing possible to help all those kids. Just like adults, children can experience spinal obstructions, called “subluxations,” which can disrupt the nervous system’s function. Anytime the nervous system isn’t working efficiently, the body is disrupted, and symptoms may happen – this includes colic and digestive issues, ear infections, breastfeeding challenges, sleep disorders, postural issues, growing pains, behavioral issues, ADHD and more.

And there are times they have no symptoms or conditions at all.

You don’t need a symptom or condition to get adjusted. Most of the times symptoms are silent, you don’t even know there is a disruption, and that’s why regular wellness checks from your chiropractor (ideally our office if you are near us) are important.

These two seminars taught me better questions to ask both parents and kids, how to look at breastfeeding issues and cranial adjusting, and an even more specific way to adjust. After almost 25 years of being a chiropractor, I love continuing to learn and improve myself so I can help people (children) even more.

Regular chiropractic adjustments can improve spinal health, enhance nervous system function, and support the body’s innate ability to heal itself. This natural, holistic approach to healthcare helps ensure that a child’s body is functioning optimally, leading to better overall health and well-being. The body is incredible, it knows what to do and when functioning optimally, it works the way it was created. Chiropractic adjustments can help set the foundation for a healthier, happier future for your child.

Please let us know if we can help you, or if you are not in this area, find a certified pediatric chiropractor near you using the ICPA “Find a Chiropractor” directory.
