Emsella, Leakage & Chiropractic

Oh gosh, personal, vulnerable post here…. it’s about something I’ve experienced the past several years, which has become worse the past year. I know many women can understand, it’s something many have experienced (or currently experience), especially as we age, and/or have babies, and/or exercise a lot. But guess what? It’s fixed, it’s significantly improved, and I’m so happy!

What was the problem?  Bladder leakage.  There, I said it. You know, the surprise cough, sneeze, laugh – and an ultimate drip or two. Ugh, it was horrible if unexpected. And as far as my running goes, well I’d have to stop every mile just to go pee. Seriously, I’d have to find a course with a bathroom close by (or lots of trees!) and would sneak in every mile or so just to avoid a problem. And that really made things less fun.

And the thing that finally fixed it, was an EmSella chair (click for more info), but first a bit of pelvic floor therapy. In January, I had the first of three visits with a pelvic floor therapist. After the first visit, I could finally do a squat (I was unable to do that before, it hurt my knees too much). But she did some work on me, and not only was the leakage a bit better, but I could finally squat down without any restriction. I thought it was a problem with just my knees, but according to what she found and fixed, my pelvic floor was the problem. It was too tight, and I could no longer squat down. After one visit, it was much better.  After a few more visits, I had improvement with the leakage, but it wasn’t totally fixed, I was still having some issues.

Then in April, I started to see Dr. Gena at Longevity Legacy and after the recommended 6 visits of sitting on the Emsella chair, my problem was fixed. I’m still a bit shocked, because all I did was sit on a vibrating chair (while fully clothed), but it really is so much better. I no longer have issues with sneezing or laughing, and I can run 3-4 miles at a time without stopping to go the bathroom. I’m quite shocked and impressed, and obviously pleased. There are some maintenance visits every few months that are suggested, and I will certainly do that, as I do not want this problem to come back.

So, if you are like me, experiencing any of that bladder incontinence, check it out. It works. I can vouch for it.

Here’s an Instagram Link on my success with it: https://www.instagram.com/p/C7Zik7TpLAp/

And of course, getting adjusted and having a properly functioning nervous system, certainly helps as well.
