Pregnancy Is Just the Beginning… Here’s What Comes Next

Most of my posts tend to focus on pregnancy or pieces of my personal life—but there’s so much more happening beyond that.  Because the reality is… pregnancy is just the beginning. After 37–42(ish) weeks, those babies arrive—and that part of the journey deserves just as much attention.

Right now, we’re in a bit of a baby boom in the office. Over the past six weeks, so many of our moms have given birth, and I’ve had the honor of checking most of their newborns. It’s truly such an amazing experience.

Chiropractic care for newborns is incredibly important, because birth itself can be physically stressful. The process of being curled up in a tight space, the pressure of contractions, and the forces involved in delivery—all of it can create tension in a baby’s spine, head and nervous system. Newborn adjustments are gentle, specific, and so meaningful. I love witnessing those moments when a baby’s eyes brighten, their body softens, or they let out that big sigh (and sometimes a big poop). You can see their nervous system begin to settle, helping them adapt more easily to life outside the womb.

Recently, we’ve even had two moms welcome twins—two girls and two boys—all born vaginally. That’s not always the typical route, as many providers lean toward C-sections with twins, so it was incredibly inspiring to see these women feel supported, confident, and empowered in their births. (One story I recently posted on Instagram, did you see it?)

So many babies come into our office simply for wellness checkups. Others are facing challenges like breastfeeding difficulties, gassiness, colic, constipation, or favoring one side. Each baby is different—but every single one deserves to be checked & adjusted as they enter this new world.

And that’s really what this comes down to. Supporting families doesn’t stop at birth—it begins there.

Those early days and weeks matter more than most people realize. When we support the nervous system from the very beginning, we’re helping set the foundation for how that baby grows, develops, and experiences the world.

It’s an honor to be part of that journey 🤍
