The “why” behind taking care of pregnant women

I travel around the country—and the world—teaching chiropractors not just how to adjust pregnant women, but why it matters. And the why is everything. This care isn’t simply about reducing pain. It’s about supporting a pregnant woman and caring for two people (or three, in the case of twins), and recognizing that the way we care for her nervous system and body can influence how her baby enters this world.

While chiropractic care during pregnancy never guarantees a specific outcome, it often helps reduce stress and tension on both mom and baby. Thoughtful, specific adjustments can support balance and alignment throughout pregnancy, contributing to a calmer environment for baby’s growth and development.

Pregnancy is a powerful season of change—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Chiropractic care during this time is gentle and intentional, designed to support the changing spine, pelvis, muscles, and ligaments as the body adapts. As a mother’s center of gravity shifts and the pelvis transforms, adjustments help restore balance and coordination, creating space and ease for baby to grow and move comfortably.

When the pelvis and nervous system are well supported, the body often functions more efficiently—frequently leading to a more natural, physiologic birth, with fewer interventions and less stress on the baby. And for mothers who experience a cesarean birth, chiropractic care can support recovery, helping them heal more efficiently so they can focus on what matters most: their baby.

Moms, you don’t have to simply get through pregnancy. Chiropractic care can help you feel more connected, confident, and supported during one of the most transformative seasons of your life.

At our office, it is truly an honor to care for pregnant women and walk alongside families during this beautiful time. Our goal is to support your nervous system, your changing body, and your growing baby—helping you feel informed, empowered, and deeply cared for every step of the way. Pregnancy isn’t something to endure; it’s a journey to be nurtured, and we’re grateful to be part of yours. 💛
