I have two cats that love to go into my closet and climb up onto the shelves to sleep. It’s a bit annoying, because then my clothes get covered with cat hair, which means I have to wash them again, and hope they don’t sneak into my closet again. A few months ago, after getting into the closet (I try to keep the door shut), a shelf fell off the wall and my clothes went all over the place. I’m sure after years of them jumping on unsteady shelves, they finally gave way. My husband was kind enough to fix it but, in the meantime, I looked into a custom made closet. My clothes were on wire shelves and in lots of crates and plastic bins. I was getting frustrated, and felt I deserved more.
So … jump ahead two months, and just last week I had the closet totally redone, the wire shelves and plastic bins were removed, and beautiful wood shelving, rods and drawers were installed. I cannot believe the difference it makes. I no longer feel like I’m in college, but now finally am adult (#adulting). And best of all, the cats have no place to jump up to. It’s too organized. It’s too neat. The cubes and shelves are custom built to what I needed so there really is no extra space. It is amazing. (Photos will be put on the office Facebook page).
It certainly wasn’t cheap, but goodness I love it. It feels so neat and organized, and that feels good. It makes me wonder what else in my life could be changed. Organization is so important, whether it’s a personal closet, a business or your life in general. Is there something you need to clean up, or to change? Something to re-arrange and organize? What would happen if you make a change? What would be better?
Take a step back, or a step outside and look in at your life, and find a place to make a change…and make that change for the better. You deserve it.
