a whirlwind february
What a month it was. I was gone 13 of the 29 days, practically half the month. The crazy month began in September when I signed up for an 8-mile running race with friends. They had done this race every year and I was always a bit jealous since it looked amazing because it was in the US Virgin Islands! What a beautiful place for a race. So, when the opportunity came, I signed up. Then in November, the ICPA emailed me telling me they were sending me to Barcelona and London to teach … in February. Oh my gosh, another major trip just two weeks before the race. Would I be able to do that? I mean it wasn’t like I was going to Chicago and then Boston, it was Barcelona, London, and the US Virgin Islands. Three dream places all squeezed into one month. I couldn’t really say no. I have a supportive husband, staff at the office, I arranged for cover work, and made it happen.
A summary of my trips: I flew into Barcelona, got settled in for a day, then spent a day teaching at Barcelona College of Chiropractic, talking to the students about pregnancy & infant chiropractic care. After I was done, I flew to London and spent the weekend teaching The Webster Technique. I stayed an extra 1.5 days to sightsee (walking all around London), then flew back to the USA. It was fast and furious, yet fun. And just last week I went to the Virgin Islands to do the race and have a few days in the sun. It was beautiful, fun, and memorable. And now it’s March and I’m back home. This month I have just one trip for the ICPA, and the remainder of the month I’ll be in the office adjusting. As much as I love traveling and teaching, I also love adjusting. It’s all so fulfilling.
As fun as that is, traveling also can be tiring, and I’m so glad I can get adjusted to keep my body going. When under stress, your body fights hard to regain homeostasis. Our body knows what to do since the nervous system controls everything in the body. If it doesn’t work right, then symptoms occur. As chiropractors, our job is to remove that interference so the body can function optimally. And with all that traveling that I did, I wanted (needed) my body to function optimally.
So, the next time you experience a busy time in your life, make sure you find the time for adjustments. It will assist you greatly and will be worth the time.
