In September my husband, son & I went to see Luzia, the show from Cirque du Soleil that is currently playing in Atlanta. It was amazing! There are so many things I absolutely love about Cirque du Soleil, one of which is that my son was the one that suggested we go. At the time, I didn’t even know Cirque was coming back to Atlanta, we had seen them last year (the show Kurios) and I didn’t think they returned to cities in following years, but luckily I was wrong. He asked about them, so I looked at the website and when I saw they were in Atlanta, we hurried to get tickets.
As with other Cirque du Soleil shows, it was mesmerizing, enough so that a 9-year old boy paid attention the entire 2-hour show. He didn’t get bored, he didn’t look away, he didn’t ask to leave; he just sat and stared at the acrobatic tricks, flips, juggling, and everything else that went with it. I have seen numerous Cirque du Soleil shows over the past 20 years, and it’s an amazing display of beauty and strength. One of my favorite shows ever is “O” that plays in Las Vegas. It includes pools and a lot of diving, and in Luzia, they also introduced the use of water…with a bit of rain & splashing, which brought this event to a whole new level.
The part I liked least, was a 22-year old contortionist named Alexey Goloborodko (Google him!). It was hard to watch him twisting into positions that the human body really isn’t supposed to be in. As a chiropractor, I was (and still am) wondering how his spine goes backwards like that. Apparently he has been doing this since age 4 and has worked extensively at his flexibility. It was amazing, disturbing and impressive at the same time.
These performers are athletes, they rely on their body to perform, so you know they do their best to take care of themselves. They must stay healthy. You know their diet is impeccable. They do their best to prevent injuries. And this includes chiropractic care. They have a traveling chiropractor, so many of them do get adjusted which allows their body to function optimally. The human body has an amazing intelligence within it, that allows the body to function – the heart to beat, the lungs to breathe, the blood to flow – and all of this intelligence is controlled by the nervous system. The brain-body connection is vital to living a life to its full potential. If there is any blockage to that communication the entire body can suffer. And that is where we come in. Chiropractic care corrects imbalance in the nervous system, and removes or reduces that blockage. When the brain and body have a full connection, there is a wonderful harmony that takes place where the body heals and functions optimally. And that is a wonderful thing.
Are you living your life to it’s fullest? Are you as healthy as you can be? Are you getting adjusted? In my opinion, everyone needs a chiropractor – if we can help you, let us know.
