The time you have

The time you have …. Have you seen that video before?  (Link to it at the end of this blog). It can really open your eyes to how much time the average person spends working, sleeping, eating, driving, and doing daily activities over the course of our lifetime. And what’s left over is the time for us to play, to make a difference, to do whatever.

“How much time have you spent worrying instead of doing something that you love?”  Do we dwell on things from the past instead of looking forward to what’s ahead of us?  Are you doing something that you love?  Granted, this is just a reflection of the average person, and some people spend more time working or doing charity work, or less time sleeping, whatever it may be. After watching this short video (less than 3 minutes long), I felt this was the perfect time of year to reflect on what we do with our time, after all, it is January 1st (as of this writing) and so many people are thinking of what they plan to do differently or better this year.

What do you plan to do differently? More exercise?  Less sugar?  Less alcohol?  More reading?  More self-care?  More chiropractic care?  There are so many things we can change in our lives, even if it’s just one minor thing, make that change for the better. It could be as simple as flossing every day, or as complicated as doubling your savings, or losing 100 pounds. Nothing is too big or too small (as long as it’s reasonable).

That being said, my biggest goal for 2025 is to say “no” more. That may sound bad to some people; however I have a tendency to say sure or yes too often, and then I have less time to myself. My Oura ring keeps telling me that my daytime recovery and restored time is minimal, I tend to wake up and go….and I stop when it’s time to go to bed. So, adding more rest into my day (which requires me to say no more), is my goal.  Even if it’s 15 minutes, time to reflect, rest, meditate, whatever it may be. That time I have needs to focus on relaxation instead of non-stop go.

Ask me in a few months how it’s going. 🙂

What about you?  Do you have special goals for this year?
