Coffee & Eating For Your Blood Type
I have a love/hate relationship with coffee and with certain foods. Plain & simple, I love coffee but I also don’t. I hate that I want it so much, even when I don’t really like it. It’s the stevia and the cream that makes the coffee taste good. It’s one of those emotional food attachments that for some reason, has increased dramatically the past two years. I went from drinking coffee twice a week, to now every day. However, I’ve decided I’m finally sick of it, and as of this writing, have only had coffee once in the past 6 days. Nothing like going cold turkey, but yes I did (though replacing it with green tea has still given me some caffeine). And while I’m giving up coffee, I’m also going to make another big change to my diet.
I’m slightly frustrated that I’m about 5-10 pounds more than I want to be right now. Most people look at me and laugh when I say that, but everyone has their happy weight (especially when you race like I do), and I’m not near it. I have found it harder to lose those few unwanted pounds the past few years, whereas before, I could just change my eating habits and I’d lose those pounds. That doesn’t happen anymore, one of the harder parts about getting older.
Last week I was talking to a friend about eating for your blood type. It’s based on the fact that no one is the same, so what works for someone may not work for another based on body chemistry. I’ve seen it in the past, but most of the foods that I’m not supposed to eat, are foods I do eat (and love). Coffee is one of them. So I decided that it’s worth a try, why not eat for my blood type (Type O). I’m curious as to how I’ll feel and if I’ll lose those unwanted pounds. I imagine I will. I don’t think it will be that hard, it just involves a little more planning.
I’m putting this challenge out there, so you can help hold me responsible. How long will I last on this new eating routine? I told myself I had to go at least two weeks (hopefully a month) and if I can see a change and if it’s not too hard, I’m going to make it a regular habit. I will keep you posted.
