Massage & Chiropractic
It’s January … the very busy time of year in our office, especially as far as paperwork is concerned. Thus the 2 week delay in writing my blog! We need to verify everyone’s insurance again, patients with insurance have deductibles that start over, addresses must be updated, exams are performed and the list goes on. And on top of all that, two new people started in the office last week so we are now in the midst of training them as well.
Our first new person is Alissa, our new PEAK student from Life University. She will be graduating from Life in the summer, and will spend the next six months with us as an intern. It is a wonderful program that the school has, as it provides Doctor’s with students to help us and at the same time, it allows the students to learn “real life” experience in an office, which is quite different from school. So, we are in the early stages of training her on our procedures and she is picking it up fast and should be up-to-speed very soon.
Our second person is Irene, our new massage therapist. Irene has been doing massage for almost 20 years and is also trained as a Naturopath. She’ll be doing chair massages as well as full table massages, and will also be helping out in the office doing insurance work and helping out at the front desk when she is not performing massage. Massage therapy and chiropractic care work well together, as chiropractors remove interference from the nervous system and then massage can help relax the muscles and reduce any muscle spasms and adhesions. Of course it can also be very relaxing as well.
So, stop on by and meet the new people in our office, and get a massage if you want. You don’t have to be a patient at the office to receive the benefits of massage therapy either!
