Reducing Allergies
There are many people who suffer from allergies, anything from pollen, dust mites, cats, or even food. These allergic reactions are triggered when the body’s immune system overreacts toward everyday things that typically pose no threat. These allergic reactions can range from inflammation, rashes, runny nose, or watery eyes, to many other symptoms. There are even acute allergic reactions, such as decrease in blood pressure, difficulty in breathing, and loss of consciousness.
The simplest method to prevent such allergic reactions is to avoid the things causing them. There are allergy-testing kits that can identify things having allergens and may cause allergic reactions, but this is easier said than done. Several allergens are very universal and are everywhere; so avoiding them is virtually impossible. In situations where avoiding the allergens is not possible, then therapy can/may help. There are many medications for relieving allergic symptoms, including antihistamine products. There are also natural approaches for the treatment of allergies aside from the commercially available treatments. These natural methods are simpler and are not as expensive as commercial medical treatment.
One inexpensive approach is using honey. A study was done on a group of people who were allergic to pollen, however these people were not allergic to honey with pollen in it. This is because the honey acted as a type of desensitizer, making the body desensitized to pollen and resulting in pollen having no allergic influence on the body. This result supports the traditional view that honey can reduce symptoms of hay fever.Another plant-based method is the use of nettle extract. Nettle extract has been indicated to have components that desensitize the body to pollen allergies causing hay fever. There is also data indicating that the severity of allergic reactions to pollen is reduced whenever nettle extract is taken. Hypnotherapy is another method for preventing allergic symptoms. This method has been very effective in reducing allergic reactions.
Another great way to fight allergies is through regular chiropractic adjustments to help boost the immune system. If you have allergies or know someone who does, please make an appointment today.
