Acid Reflux, Chiropractic & Babies

Recently I had a mom bring in her 8 week old baby boy to me, as he was suffering from acid reflux.  She had heard that chiropractic care could help and found our office because of my certification in pediatrics.  I love being able to work on little babies and children and this is one of the more “easy” things to take care of with children. Vertebral subluxations in the upper neck and or mid-part of the back are usually the culprit, in addition to the mother’s diet (if they are breast feeding).

Babies basically grow within a mother’s womb without medications, no one has to take drugs that result in legs, arm and the heart forming, it just happens automatically. Continuing on in life, that same baby shouldn’t need medications to clear up acid reflux. Instead, Chiropractors look to see what is causing the problem and through specific, gentle chiropractic care, most times the problem resolves with the help of the adjustments and some other “tips” given to the parents. When this happens, both mom and baby are happier. What could be better?
